As the coach of the Newport HS golf team, I am excited to welcome our athletes for the upcoming season. We believe that a successful team is built on a foundation of high performance and strong bonds within the group. In order to achieve this, we have established a set of principles and guidelines that all of our athletes are expected to follow. First and foremost, we expect our athletes to prioritize their commitment to the team. This means showing up to practices and matches on time and giving their best effort on the course. We also expect them to be supportive of their teammates and to work together to improve as a group. In addition to their commitment to the team, we also expect our athletes to maintain high standards of personal conduct. This includes demonstrating sportsmanship and respect for their opponents, as well as upholding the values of our school and community.
We expect all of our athletes to be committed to their own personal development. This means putting in the time and effort to improve their skills and knowledge of the game, and being willing to push themselves to be the best they can be. This also means being open to feedback and guidance from coaches and teammates, and being willing to take on challenges and new opportunities for growth.
We understand that balancing school work, other extracurricular activities, and golf can be challenging. That's why we will provide support and guidance to help our athletes manage their time and stay on track. We also encourage open communication between athletes, parents, and coaches to ensure that everyone is on the same page.
Our goal is to create a positive and rewarding experience for our athletes. We believe that by following these principles and guidelines, we can foster a team atmosphere that is focused on both high performance, strong bonds and personal growth within the group.
We are looking forward to an exciting season. Go Knights!
